You never know about May weather in Indiana, but it turned out to be a rather mild night for a concert. A 7:30 start and crossing the time zone meant we had to get an early start on our 90 min drive. We arrived a half an hour early and headed right for the municipal parking garage two streets over. There is quite a bit of free street parking, but finding a spot takes a lot of luck. We decided just to pay the $5. It's a short walk and just around the corner to the Morris. The Morris Performing Arts Center is an amazing old theater that has been completely restored. The seating is quite comfortable and tiered nicely. The acoustics here are beyond compare. Beer is sold in the lobby, but not allowed in the theater. Do yourself a favor and take in a show at The Morris. Blue Oyster Cult came on stage right on time and played a short, but energetic set. Last Days of May was a nice surprise with Richie Castellano supplying some amazing lead. It's been a few years since we've seen REO Speedwagon and it was nice to see they haven't missed a beat. Sure the lineup has changed, but the music remains true to its roots. Kevin Cronin still can belt out the vocals and knows how to put on a show. All and all one fun evening and well worth the money. Two classic bands still going strong and doing what they've always done best, rocking their asses off! If you would like to comment, review, or send more pics, please click HERE. |
