George Thorogood and the Destroyers brought their unique high energy sound to the Star Theatre on this unseasonably warm early Spring evening. I'm not great at reviews, but suffice to say George kicked ass. He came back for two encores finishing with a 10 min jam of Madison Blues that was pretty damn awesome. The Destroyers' bluesy sound was complimented nicely by opening act, the Fabulous Thunderbirds. First time seeing these guys and they were very impressive. George played all his standards and a selection or two off his new album. If anybody has a set list, please send it in and I'll post it. I can't ever remember what songs were played in which order and hard to take pics and make notes. Several times during the show he mentioned how much he enjoys playing Indiana crowds. He sized it up thusly: "We love coming to Indiana. Always have." If you were there and have something to add, or find any mistakes, please feel free to let us know. |
